The Story

“Life Box” depicts a block of flats in Tokyo, a facade with balconies lit up. As in a game, the warm yellow light of the balconies are places diagonally and create a contrasting pattern to the otherwise grey facade. The title refers to the block of flats as a box, or the different apartments as boxes where one lives. This idea goes back to the early modern era theatre, where the dollhouse principle was applied.
